Streeterville Artisan Market
November 14-15, 2009
Streeterville Artisan Market
You are cordially invited to participate
in the second annual Streeterville Artisan Market. Sponsored by SOAR (Streeterville Organization
of Active Residents), the Artisan Market will be open to the public in the
beautiful, well-lit first floor of the Lurie Center of Northwestern
University. The venue is located in the
midst of a busy, populated neighborhood known for shopping and entertainment,
just steps away from the Magnificent Mile.
Location: Northwestern University
Lurie Center,
303 E Superior, Chicago
Dates: Saturday , November 14, 2009, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Sunday, November 15, 2009, 10
a.m. - 5 p.m.
Timed to coincide with the beginning of
the holiday shopping season, the show will be well publicized through the SOAR
website, press releases, posters, flyers and postcards for all vendors to mail
to their own lists. We also expect a high
volume of foot traffic from the Chicago Humanities Festival going on that weekend in
the area.
Our goal is to choose participants who
create high quality applied arts and fine crafts in a variety of media and in a wide price range in
order to appeal to a large audience. All items must be hand-crafted by the
vendor. The deadline for applications is August 1, 2009. Participants will be notified of their acceptance by August 15, 2009. A full space is 10 feet wide and either 8 or 10 feet deep, depending on location. Each space includes one table in the size of your choice and two chairs. The charge for a full space for the two days is $125; a half space is available for $75. Access to electricity is an additional $25.
Buyers will be directed to pay for
their purchases at one central location. Because SOAR is a 501(c))(3) and the Artisan Market is both a
celebration of Streeterville as well as a fundraiser, 15% of your gross sales
will be donated to SOAR to benefit neighborhood programming.
