The Ivy Hotel
233 E. Ontario Street
This long vacant building is being converted into a 63-room boutique hotel. Interior construction is underway, and the owners (the Cazares family) anticipate opening to guests in fall 2011.
The intent is to create a "green" building which will include LED lighting, bamboo flooring, recycled wall coverings and a Mitsubishi HVAC system with the same carbon footprint as a standard light bulb.
The owners are also considering adding a curb cut in front of the hotel which is currently being reviewed for its potential traffic impact.
