Project Description
2021 Annual Meeting
Wednesday, March 30
5:00 PM
Streeterville community members and local officials came together last week at the SOAR Annual Meeting. This was the first in person Annual Meeting in 2 years and a good time was had by all! The meeting was held at Harry Caray’s in Water Tower Place at the Chicago Sports Museum. We are grateful for their warm hospitality. In attendance at the meeting were both of our Aldermen – Alderman Reilly of the 42nd Ward and Alderman Hopkins of the 2nd Ward, along with 18th District Commander Jon Hein, Sergeant Christopher Schenk and Roe Conn of the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, and of course lots of SOAR members. The importance of public safety was stressed at the meeting as it is SOAR’s number one priority. Awards were presented to our wonderful volunteers, along with neighborhood Beautification Awards and a special Above and Beyond Safety Award.
It was so nice to come together again as a community because it had been far too long. As we look forward to brighter days ahead, we plan to present more social opportunities for our members to participate in. We will host events at Streeterville businesses where neighbors can meet each other along with interesting informational activities. We will also continue to offer volunteer activities for those who want to participate. And, the SOAR Farmers Market will re-open on Tuesday, June 7th for the season.
