Get Involved

There are many ways to become active and engaged in SOAR's efforts in Streeterville.  Volunteers can contribute through one-time efforts, work on special events or projects, assist in the office, or participate on an ongoing basis with SOAR's task forces and committees.  Streeterville residents 18 years or older are invited and encouraged to get involved.

Special Event & Project Opportunities

 

BBQ at the Pier & Celebration of Volunteers - Wednesday, June 6th

Volunteers are needed to assist with registration and check-in and to serve as greeters.  If you are interested in helping please call the SOAR office at 312.280.2596 or respond to volunteer@soarchicago.org.

 

Artisan Market Streeterville - Saturday and Sunday, November 10th & 11th

Volunteers are needed for many different jobs and a variety of shift times.  Pre-Event:   Marketing, Promoting in the Neighborhood & any Facebook experts out there? Day-of Event:  Working directly with Vendors, Greeters, Floaters, Set-up/Clean-Up. Lot's of fun for all!

Green Thumbs for Lake Shore Park Garden

Stop by the gardens at the west end of Lake Shore Park on Saturday mornings during the warm weather seasons to help weed and water.

Office Opportunities

Volunteers are needed to assist in the SOAR office.  Individuals can participate on an as needed basis or set up a two hour regularly scheduled slot each week.  Activities include working on mailings, preparing materials for events, and other general office duties.  Interested residents should contact SOAR's Associate Director, Buffy Sergent, for more information.

Task Force & Committee Opportunities

SOAR's task forces and committees are busy working on wide variety of community initiatives, issues and topics.  Interested residents are encouraged to review the list of active Task Forces & Committees and to contact the relevant chair(s) for more information.
