Get Involved

There are many ways to become active and engaged in SOAR's efforts in Streeterville.  Volunteers can contribute through one-time efforts, work on special events or projects, assist in the office, or participate on an ongoing basis with SOAR's task forces and committees.  Streeterville residents 18 years or older are invited and encouraged to get involved.

Special Event & Project Opportunities

StreeterFest - Saturday and Sunday, August 27th and 28th

Volunteers are needed for many different jobs and a variety of shift times. StreeterFest™ volunteers will receive free admission, a food and beverage coupon, and a free T-shirt for each shift.  To learn more and sign up, click here.

Condo Coffee Volunteer

Condo Coffees take place in Streeterville condo buildings on Saturday mornings usually from 9:00-11:00 a.m.  We can always use new faces to help us reach out to residents during the Coffee or to help with set-up and tear-down.

If you would like to help us host a Coffee in your building, let us know.  All we need from you is a contact or an introduction to whomever it is that makes those decisions and we will do the rest.  If you have questions about anything Condo Coffee related, please send an email to the membership committee, or call 312-280-2596.

Green Thumbs for Lake Shore Park Garden

Stop by the gardens at the west end of Lake Shore Park on Saturday mornings during the warm weather seasons to help weed and water.

Office Opportunities

Volunteers are needed to assist in the SOAR office.  Individuals can participate on an as needed basis or set up a two hour regularly scheduled slot each week.  Activities include working on mailings, preparing materials for events, and other general office duties.  Interested residents should contact SOAR's Assistant Director, Buffy Sergent, for more information.

Task Force & Committee Opportunities

SOAR's task forces and committees are busy working on wide variety of community initiatives, issues and topics.  Interested residents are encouraged to review the list of active Task Forces & Committees and to contact the relevant chair(s) for more information.
